An interview with the couple
Lillian's point of view
Diego's point of view
Tell us the story of how you met.
Interviewers point of view
The old fashion way. Bumble. We talked for a few weeks and decided to go to dinner. We talked all night, the restaurant closed while we were still talking. We've been inseparable ever since, it felt so natural.
Diego just nodded and added
She talks a lot
What attracted you to each other?
His sense of humor, smile, how easy it was to talk to him, and as we got to know each other I admired his work ethic.
Her eyes, smile, the curls in her hair. I loved how she looked, she was beautiful, and as we got to know each other I loved how bold she was
Lillian straightened her hair once, Diego asked her to put her curls back because he loves them so much

Ask about the turtle at the engagement photoshoot
So how did you spend the next few years?
We met in 2022 and at the time I already was looking into getting a home of my own.
I'm very handy and when she told me about how she wanted to redo the home she found I was happy to help.
He, my family, and I worked for months to make the house into the vision I had. It was great to see him get along with my parents, and he comforted me when I was stressed working and doing the remodel.
As the home came together the image of him being in it with me was at the front of my mind. So I asked him to stay here with me and grow our relationship
She did not ask! She told me and I agreed. I wanted to be with her always so it wasn't a question, but she didn't make it an option when she TOLD me.
Diego immediately made a confused faced and said 'no, no, no"
Whatever! We moved in November 2023
What about the engagement?
We had already discussed where we thought this relationship was going but I left it up to him to make the plans.
I asked her dad for help. Brian gave me his blessing but I was so nervous because I wanted to do it with her family there with us. I decided Christmas at the house. I gave her a box and as she opened it to the ring I asked her to marry me.
Diego was shaking and sweating from being so nervous and ended up taking a nap after the day calmed down.
I have a necklace with his initial on it and thought it was a new one. I did not think he would propose that day.

After all this time how would you describe you partner?
He's very introverted.
Kind (but not nice) he'll help everyone, but he'll gripe for a bit.
He's very loyal and loves his friends and family always.
He's also a cranky old man!
Beautiful, inside and out. She is just so much more than I thought.
She's very loud, talks a lot, and excitable
She's also introverted and likes to be home, she's like the old lady who invites the whole neighborhood over for cookies and gossip
Lillian knows most everyone on her street and lets kids play in her yard. Diego calls the kids gremlins because Lillian let one play with the water with priscilla and then the next day 3 more showed up to the house
Meet the
four legged family members!

Cindy
Before Diego moved to Alabama he lived in North Carolina. He was in a group chat with a few of his friends and a family was selling a few kittens they had. Diego saw her and was drawn to her different colored eyes and wanted her. When he went to go pick her up the family's daughter said her name should be 'Cindy' because she looked like a 'Cindy'. Ever since Cindy has loved ONLY Diego, and hates/fears any other human. She is very timid, standoffish, scared, and quiet. But when Diego is relaxing and things at home are calm she comes out of hiding to cuddle with him. She sometimes lets Lillian look at her.
Cindy hates the outdoors, runs when you look her in the eyes, and is a pro hide and seek player.
Frederico
As we were working on the house Diego got a text from his friend saying he had a bunch of kittens in his bushes. He was hoping to catch them all and find homes for them. Diego knew I (Lillian) had been wanting a cat and showed me the pictures. I really wanted the orange one...Diego wanted the black one. The first one the friend was able to catch was Freddy and the decision was made by the universe, our son would be orange.
As he has grown to be super sweet, affectionate, gentle, and very social. He loves going outside every day and to this day he is our only son.

Priscilla
Shortly before finally moving into the home this emaciated, dirty, smelly dog walks in our front yard. She walked right up to Brian and began begging for attention. Lillian decided to bring her into the home, clean her up, feed her for a few days, and find SOMEONE ELSE to take care of her. Lillian did not want a dog; they just got a cat, they were moving into a the home, and the plan did not include a Stinky. Diego didn't want to bring the dog inside, saying they should take her to the humane society right away,. As days past this dog's love won them over, She was skittish and showed signs of abuse, but she loved to cuddle, she gave kisses readily, and trusted everyone.
Now Priscilla is a big lover! She is an energetic bull in a China shop. She loves everyone with her whole body and doesnt know her own power, and still cuddles everyone who lets her.
Freddy tries not to excite Priscilla to play with him

Priscilla still does not like the camera
Cindy has since done here best to accept her new family

Priscilla has still not learned why the cats don't want to wrestle
